So, we finally made it! We arrived to Orlando and already checked in at hotel. The suite is pretty nice and spacious so we’re happy.

Yesterday I complained about freezing cold weather. Well, today it’s pretty much opposite — you can’t survive without air conditioner! :) Fortunately, we have one in the car and in hotel room.

Few words about the trip itself: damn, it’s a lot of driving! We leaved at 5:30 pm and I was driving through the night until 5 am. Then I took three hours break at South Carolina and we continued driving at 8 am. The road conditions were tough: it was drizzling and there was a thick fog most of the time.

Driving, lots of driving

Thanks to people’s advices, I didn’t get a speeding ticket in Virginia although I had many chances to :) Cops are everywhere! I suspect that even the waitress at Danny’s was an undercover and expected that I would drink ;) Otherwise the trip was fun — lots of cool looking panoramas and places! We’re especially impressed with Florida — amazingly beautiful state! We made many videos which I’m going to edit and upload later on. So keep watching for updates!

By the way, I’m really impressed with my iPod’s battery. Even though it was only half way charged, the music was playing non stop and it still has some charge to it! We played about 300 songs. It helped me stay awake. The trip with stops and rest took 23 hours.

Tomorrow we’re going to Seaworld amusement park. More to come tomorrow…

  2. Very nice, guys! Glad you’re enjoying the trip. Interesting thing is that we went to Florida we always stopped to eat at Danny’s as well. :)

Why did you decide to rest for only 3 hours? Couldn’t help it and just wanted to get to Florida as soon as possible?

  3. Danny’s in Virginia (in the middle of nowhere) — Yeaaah! :) We met some unusual people there. They talk different, they look different!
Then we stopped somewhere in South Carolina. Oh man, whole different world! We went to the Burger King, they didn’t have any burgers! Just «breakfast» with crappy donuts (oh well, better than nothing when you’re dying to eat something)

Initially, I was planning to stop at Rocky Mount, NC but then the road was empty, with almost no traffic (except few crazy folks like us driving 90 mph thru the night :) And I didn’t want to sleep for some reason. So I though, okay, we’ll make it to South Carolina and then if I’m tired (Darya was sleeping anyways) we’ll stop at the hotel. But then, after 5 am I wanted to sleep so suddenly that I realized I couldn’t help myself and we stopped at the nice rest area, full of cars with drivers sleeping in them. And you’re right, I wanted to arrive ASAP :)

  4. By the way, all Burger Kings and McDonald’s serve breakfast before 11am. :) I’ve discovered that on my own a long time ago, and was upset about the fact that they have no burgers. :)

  5. Wow, that’s bizarre! Breakfast sucked really hard! :)

  6. Some McDonalds’s have some sort of a steak-and-egg sandwich on the breakfast menu… that one was pretty good. For McDonalds, that is.

  7. Actually I like McGriddles a lot. A weird combination of sweet bread covered in syrup and some bacon is a strangely delicious combination. o.O

  8. Hm, gotta try it! We just came back from Denny’s. I had a cheeseburger with orange juice — nice :)
